Updates: Weather - Air Quality - Distance Changing Option
It looks like morning temperatures will range between 70 - 80 degrees on race day. See link to running tips below.
Runners: the distance you selected may work well if you are feeling in peak physical condition for the distance you selected and you are accustomed to running in heat and humidity. This is especially true for the 10 Mile.
However, if you are not comfortable with the distance you selected, or if you have ANY reservations about your physical condition, please consider selecting a shorter distance, or do this as a virtual event at a later date.
Please note that if you are running the 10 Mile at a 16 minute per mile pace or slower and you approach the 5 mile turn around at 9:20am or after, your race will be converted to the 5 mile distance.
10 Mile Shortcut Option: if you are registered for the 10 Mile and you feel like you want to shorten your race, go ahead and take the 5 Mile turnaround and you will get an official 5 Mile time. Please stop by the help desk after the race and let them know that you transferred to the 5 mile so that the results are correct.
Air quality: to check the current air quality forecast click here MNPCA.
Heat and Humidity Alert System: We will communicate to you with a flag system involving one of the colors below. We will have a colored flag that indicates heat conditions at the start and finish and at the 5 Mile turn around.
